Community Vision Award Contest Rules
NO DONATION OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER.
SPONSOR: This contest is sponsored by the Community Fund for Women & Girls (“the Fund”), a component fund of the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven (“the Foundation”).
TIMING AND DEADLINE: Contest begins on March 25, 2025 and ends at 11 pm Eastern on Friday, October 31, 2025.
HOW TO ENTER: Submit your chosen nonprofit (selected from our dropdown list) along with your valid email address on the Community Vision Award Contest page to cast a vote for an eligible Fund grantee or partner that you would like to receive a cash grant from the Sponsor.
DISCLAIMER: Sponsor is not responsible for technical failures of any kind, lost or delayed submissions, human error, or any combination thereof which may affect your entry into the Contest; including but not limited to email deliverability issues or server downtime.
ELIGIBILITY: Anyone 18 years of age or older is eligible to enter the sweepstakes, except where prohibited or restricted by law. In order to receive a cash grant, a nonprofit must be listed on the contest page voting form as a recent grantee or partner of the Fund.
VOTER ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS: Officers, directors and employees of The Community Foundation and officers, directors and employees of any of the participating nonprofit organizations are prohibited from voting.
SELECTION PROCESS: All entries will be evaluated after voting closes on October 31, 2025 to select the three nonprofits with the most votes. Note: only one vote per valid email address is eligible to be counted for the contest. Duplicate votes will be discarded and the Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify votes that appear to be fraudulent or automated. In the event of a tie, the Sponsor reserves the right to select winners at its sole discretion.
NOTIFICATION: Winners of the contest will be contacted directly with an invitation to attend the Fund’s 30th anniversary gala in November 2025, where they will be publicly honored as a Community Vision Award recipient. Winners will also be announced on the Foundation’s website and social media channels. To receive a hard copy list of winners, available after October 31, 2025, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to the Foundation at the mailing address listed below.
PRIZE: Each of the three nonprofits with the greatest number of votes, selected as described above, will receive an unrestricted $2,000 grant.
HOW YOUR INFORMATION WILL BE USED: The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven may contact you by email with relevant information, including but not limited to news and stories related to the Community Fund for Women & Girls’ 30th anniversary. You may unsubscribe from emails at any time. Your personal information will never be sold or shared with a third party. RIGHT TO MODIFY: Sponsor reserves the right to suspend, modify, or terminate the contest at any time if, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, the integrity, administration, or fairness of the contest has been compromised due to fraud, technical failures, or other causes beyond Sponsor’s control.
MISCELLANEOUS: All submissions will become the sole property of the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. By casting a vote, you grant the Sponsor permission to use for promotional and communication purposes any comments submitted, along with your first name and last initial, without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. By participating in this contest, entrants and winners agree to abide by all contest rules and by decision of judges. Entrants and winners also agree to release the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, affiliated sponsors and organizations, and their respective agents, representatives, officers, directors and employees, from and against any claim, liability, loss or expense of any kind resulting from entry or participation in the contest or acceptance or use of the prize. All issues and questions concerning these Official Rules shall be governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict of law principles, and any disputes shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut.
