We are thrilled to announce Vanessa Priya Daniel as keynote speaker for the Community Fund for Women & Girls 30th Anniversary Celebration, to be held at 11 a.m. on November 13 at the Omni Hotel in New Haven.

The founder and former executive director of Groundswell Fund, a leading funder of women of color-led grassroots and electoral organizing, Daniel is the acclaimed author of the new book “Unrig the Game: What Women of Color Can Teach Everyone About Winning” – a bold blueprint for dismantling systems that hold women and girls back and building new ones that center care, connection and community.

A powerful voice for equity and economic justice, Daniel’s work is acclaimed by leaders like Dolores Huerta, Ai-jen Poo and Linda Sarsour. Her message will challenge, energize and galvanize us to reimagine what’s possible – together.

ABOUT VANESSA PRIYA DANIEL

Vanessa Priya Daniel has worked in social justice movements for 25 years as a labor and community organizer, writer and funder. A queer, biracial (Sri Lankan and white) feminist, the heart of her work is connecting people and resources to achieve vibrant grassroots power and realize a multiracial, feminist democracy. She is a Smith College Medalist and was named one of Inside Philanthropy’s “Top 100 Most Powerful Players in Philanthropy.” Daniel and her co-parent, Tricia, are mothers to two daughters, ages six and thirteen.
