A Message from Our Fund Chair
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Welcome to the Community Fund for Women & Girls’ 30th Anniversary campaign. Our theme, “Many Voices, One Vision,” is a recognition of all the women who have contributed their time, energy and resources to The Fund in support of its North Star — creating a Greater New Haven where all women and girls thrive.
The Fund was launched by trailblazing women and supporters in 1995 and it remains Greater New Haven’s only endowment dedicated to promoting the social and economic advancement of women and girls.
Our grants support programs and services that meet the particular challenges facing women and girls, providing inspiring opportunities in education, leadership, professional advancement and more. We intentionally focus on women as advocates, leaders and catalysts for our community. Our funding also supports gender-specific research and brings the community together around critical issues facing women and girls locally and nationally.

As we celebrate this 30-year milestone, we will be sharing stories from the changemakers and community partners we have worked with over the years. You can learn more about our nonprofit partners on our Community Vision Awards page, where we invite you to vote for your favorite to receive a $2,000 grant later this year! We will also be hosting events in the coming months, culminating with a summit on November 13th at the Omni Hotel in New Haven.
On this anniversary year and beyond, we are more committed than ever to continuing this work. We hope you will join the movement and support the Fund so that together, we can continue to advance women and girls in Greater New Haven.
Sincerely,
Christine kim

About the Community Fund for Women & Girls
Since 1995, the Community Fund for Women & Girls – a component fund of The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven – has been the region’s only endowment dedicated to promoting the social and economic advancement of women and girls. The Fund tackles gender inequity in the Greater New Haven area through grants, advocacy, strategic philanthropy and collaboration. In addition to funding innovative research-driven initiatives such as the Pathways to Economic Security for Women grant program and the Girls of Color Mentoring Network, the Fund raises awareness by convening stakeholders and hosting public events with high-profile thought leaders.
