The three Greater New Haven nonprofits with the most votes will each receive a Community Vision Award of $2,000 in unrestricted grant funding. Winners will be announced at the Fund’s anniversary celebration on Nov. 13.

The Academy of Our Lady of Mercy is the first Catholic college preparatory high school for girls in Connecticut, and among the first established in the United States.
All Our Kin
All Our Kin is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that trains, supports, and sustains community child care providers in order to ensure that children and families have the foundation they need to succeed in school and in life.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Theta Epsilon Omega Chapter
Alpha Kappa Alpha’s influence extends beyond college campus quads and student interest. It has a legacy of service that deepens, rather than ends, with college graduation when members join graduate chapters. The overarching goals of Alpha Kappa Alpha’s program activities center on significant issues in families, communities, government halls and world assembly chambers. Its efforts constitute a priceless part of the global experience in the 21st century.
Boys & Girls Club of Greater New Haven
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater New Haven is the area’s leading out-of-school youth development organization Created with the merger of the Ulbrich Boys & Girls Club and the Boys & Girls Club of New Haven in 2022, our organization provides outstanding youth development programs and services in New Haven, North Haven, and Wallingford.
Campaign School at Yale
We educate young women to participate in the political process via learning and networking opportunities.
CERCLE
CERCLE programs focus on improving the learning environments for children and families in neighborhoods where they live and work. Through our network of Black- and Latino-owned early childhood education programs operating in Greater New Haven, Bridgeport, Stamford, and Stratford, we work as a collaborative.
Christian Community Action, Inc.
Christian Community Action, Inc. (CCA) serves families and individuals in crisis, through a continuum of care that assists them in realizing their unique strength and potential.
CitySeed Inc.
CitySeed is building resilient livelihoods for farmers, chefs, and food entrepreneurs. It’s Sanctuary Kitchen program helps immigrant women gain economic independence.
CMWP Foundation
The CMWP Foundation is an entrepreneurial support organization (ESO) providing targeted support for Black and brown business owners nationally. It is a member of the Girls of Color Mentoring Network.
Collective for Refugee and Immigrant Women’s Wellbeing (CRIW)
The Collective for Refugee and Immigrant Women’s Wellbeing is a nonprofit in New Haven founded in 2020. We partner with underserved refugee and immigrant women with limited power due to gender, ethnicity, poverty, education, language, culture and health disparities.
Community Action Agency of New Haven
Since 1977, Community Action Agency of New Haven (CAANH) has offered pathways to prosperity to those in poverty in the Greater New Haven area. It’s SMART Women prorgram providing single mothers with a resource network, personal financial management training, women’s health, parenting/life skills, and other services leading to self-sufficiency.
Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence
CCADV is the voice against domestic violence across Connecticut. We lead a statewide network focused on advocacy, outreach and education.
Connecticut Women’s Consortium
The mission of the Connecticut Women’s Consortium is to ensure that the behavioral health system responds to the needs of women and the people and organizations that affect them.
D.E.S.T.I.N.E.D. TO Succeed
The organization enriches the lives of young people and families through affordable, creative, quality program opportunities. It is a member of the Girls of Color Mentoring Network.
The Diaper Bank
Founded in 2004, The Diaper Bank of Connecticut (DBCT) provides basic health needs including diapers, period supplies, and incontinence products to individuals and families in need throughout Connecticut.
Elena’s Light
Elena’s Light strives to empower refugee and immigrant women and children in Connecticut, particularly in the New Haven area.

Life Health and Wellness Center
Life Health and Wellness Center, Inc is a nonprofit corporation in Ansonia, Connecticut. Our mission is to promote educational programs for the youth and adults through collaboration and partnerships in the community around education and academic success, health, and well-being, including preventing illness and chronic diseases.
Manufacturing And Technical Community Hub
MATCH provides contract manufacturing services as a vehicle for commercially relevant manufacturing job training and paid manufacturing experience. As an inclusive and predominantly self-funded public-private non-profit manufacturing facility, MATCH coordinates comprehensive training, mentorship, wrap-around support, and jobs to the New Haven community.
National Coalition of 100 Black Women
The National Coalition of 100 Black Women works as change agents to influence policy that promotes gender equity in health, education and economic empowerment. They are a member of the Girls of Color Mentoring Network.
New Haven Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
The New Haven Alumnae Chapter was chartered on October 3, 1959, by 23 courageous, dynamic, trailblazing women with a desire to continue the commitment begun by our 22 Founders. The chapter is a member of the Girls of Color Mentoring Network.

Student Parenting and Family Services provides child care and family support services in a beautifully renovated space at Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven and is open to all students of New Haven Public Schools.
The New Haven Club of The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Club
Our mission is to promote and protect the interests of African American business and professional women, to serve as advisors for young people seeking to enter business and the professions; to improve the quality of life in our local and global communities, and to foster good fellowship.
The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services
The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services provides services for victims and their children at two sites located in Shelton and New Haven. All services offered are free of charge and confidential.

Winning Ways Inc
Winning Ways uses a lived experience, evidence, and family-based curriculum to foster the success of the formerly incarcerated or those seeking recovery in underserved communities. It provides women-focussed reentry programs.

The Women & Family Life Center is a privately funded nonprofit 501(c)(3) located in Guilford, CT and has been serving women and families on the Connecticut Shoreline since 1991.
Women’s Business Development Council
The mission of the Women’s Business Development Council (WBDC) is to support economic prosperity for women and strengthen communities through entrepreneurial and financial education services that create and grow sustainable jobs and businesses across Connecticut.
Women’s Health Research at Yale
Better science means better lives. Women’s Health Research at Yale (WHRY) initiates world-class studies on current health challenges for women, while working to uncover sex and gender differences that influence health outcomes.
About the Community Fund for Women & Girls
Since 1995, the Community Fund for Women & Girls – a component fund of the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven – has been the region’s only endowment dedicated to promoting the social and economic advancement of women and girls. The Fund tackles gender inequity in the Greater New Haven area through grants, advocacy, strategic philanthropy and collaboration. In addition to funding innovative research-driven initiatives like Pathways to Economic Security and the Girls of Color Mentoring Network, the Fund raises awareness by convening stakeholders and hosting public events with high-profile thought leaders.
